Earlier in October, Mitek attended the North Carolina Furniture Market show located in High Point, NC. High Point is a fairly small town of approximately 50,000 people, which triples in size once a year, as designers and manufactures from around the world invade this small region, for the largest furniture show in the world. The event lasts two weeks and encompasses a 25 mile radius of town, with furniture showrooms literally scattered over the country sides.
This year Soundolier created a lot of excitement being featured in the Tempo Lighting showroom located in the event’s main building. Many furnishing buyers stated, “This was the most unique item we’ve seen in decades for the furnishing industry.” Several furniture, lighting, and designer magazines took note and several pictures too, further promoting Soundolier. Tempo commented, “This was the most traffic we had ever had in our showroom, with 90% of all orders being the Soundolier.” Adding to the excitement, Soundolier had additional exposure in the Legends furniture showroom, located two blocks away from the main building.
Following the furniture Market, Soundolier was invited to the 2007 Lodging Conference held at the Arizona Biltmore in Phoenix. Soundolier was showcased in the Hotelier Lounge where we rocked the house…actually it was a tent, but we still plugged in and transmitted audio for the listening enjoyment of hotel owners, developers, and vendors. Being a part of this show gave us great exposure. We have now opened up opportunities with both the Hilton and Wyndham Hotel chains.
Through this exposure we will be visiting the hospitality industry again; the Duo is to be shown as part of the 2010 Suite of the Future at the NY Hotel and Hospitality Show. This is the largest hotel show in the world and once again we will team-up with Tempo Lighting to get Soundolier designed and retro’d into many of the finest resorts and restaurants in the world. The plug and play and wireless flexibility makes it a perfect fit for this type of technology in the hospitality world.
