Overview

Research and Development Facility

The 20,000 square foot research and development facility houses design and engineering technological components, including revolutionary computer software, such as Cosmos Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Quantum and AutoCAD, plus an on-site dark room. The acoustic measurement lab in this facility includes MLSSA, MLS, LEAP and Audio Precision System One equipment. Environmental testing capabilities at this location include ultra-violet testing, vibration testing; power testing, and humidity and temperature chamber.

Loudspeaker Manufacturing Facility

The Mitek loudspeaker facility is a 110,000 square foot MIL Spec-certified manufacturing plant with four separate production lines and numerous work cells that produce a staggering number of speakers and speaker systems each day. An automated, environmentally friendly, water-based, electrostatic paint system paints all the metal parts. Mitek winds all its own voice coils using 10 different coil winders, six of which are computer-numerically-controlled (CNC) Auman winders from Germany. Mitek uses both C Core and capacitive discharge magnetizers on-site, and because of their high quality, Mitek actually builds C Core magnetizers for other speaker builders as well. Other on-site capabilities include 2-color pad printing and silk screening.

Design and Display Manufacturing Facility

The 5,000 square foot design and display center features full service woodworking equipment, dedicated to the design and manufacturing of trade show and point-of-purchase display materials.

Metal Stamping Facility

This 40,000 square foot facility is dedicated to making the finest quality metal parts for speaker manufacturing. On-site capabilities include stamping speaker baskets, pro style grilles, front and back plates, and shielding cups using 12 different punch presses up to 150 tons in size. Mitek also manufactures many of its own pole pieces, from 1/2" to 3" in diameter, using three turning centers, two screw machines and a computer numerically-controlled (CNC) lathe. The facility also has complete tool and die capabilities.

Multi-Fabrication Facility

This 40,000 square foot facility is the production headquarters for the finest wood parts used in cabinet assembly, and for the cutting edge, high density, polyethylene (HDPE) Thunder Form enclosures. Unique in the audio industry, Mitek Corporation uses a rotational molding machine to create HDPE Thunder Form car audio enclosures in vehicle-specific colors. The Multi-Fab facility also houses a true work cell environment (numerous cells) that is considered to be among the most efficient of its kind worldwide. Designed to be as automated and self-sufficient as possible, the facility houses two computer numerically-controlled (CNC) Holzma Cutup Systems, four CNC routers, a high speed double tenor, and three robot functioning centers, that when used in conjunction with other various woodworking machinery, creates an "automated dance" that is dazzling to behold. Besides being functional, the multi-fabrication facility is also environmentally conscious. All scraps are ground and incinerated to run the building's heating system.
