This document describes the interfaces which may be used by external systems to communicate with the 5400ACS controller in order to get system status or control background music (BGM) or make announcements.  For example, this is the protocol used by the 5400 Mobile Mic Station application and IED Director.  The sections in the document cover the various IED command protocols, External System Interaction Guidelines, and an alternate Status Protocol.
