Configuring Power Save Mode Operation in GLOBALCOM

Since GLOBALCOM Service Pack (SP) 5 Hot Fix (HF) 3 in Fall 2015, GLOBALCOM in concert with TeleciteDriver program that talks to the NYCT standard protocol LED signs has been capable of putting most displays in standby mode and selected "emergency displays" into Power Save Mode.  The attached document describes more about this mode and how to configure it.  The summary of the configuration steps required is:

  • Configure GLOBALCOM to accept a contact closure and declare a power fault.
  • Configure GLOBALCOM to detect the power fault and need to go into Power Save mode
  • Configure the Telecite Driver software to know which displays are the emergency displays to go into Power Save Mode rather than be left in standby mode.
