The Production Support Technician will provide technical assistance for production computer systems, test systems, displays, printers, updates, production software, networks and to system users. The position will also provide assistance concerning the use of computer hardware and software, including printing, installation, preventative maintenance, and operating systems. The position must be innovative and detail-oriented.

Essential Functions
- Answer user inquiries regarding computer software or hardware operations to resolve problems, enter commands and observe system functioning to verify correct operations and detect errors, and oversee the daily performance of computer systems and test systems.
- Performs routine operations such as setting up/configuring new hardware and back-up hardware needed on production lines.
- Install and perform repairs to hardware, software, or peripheral equipment following design or installation guidelines and refer major hardware or software problems or defective products to vendors or technicians for service.
- Help develop, install, and maintain production tracking systems.
- Installs and upgrades hardware (PCs, network switches, monitors, printers, faxes, other peripherals) and software components (O/S, applications). Coordinates all necessary maintenance operations: Windows, MS Office applications, Linux, other applications, utilities, etc.
- Provides first level troubleshooting support. Answers questions and resolves problems in a timely manner using standard procedures through direct assistance. Maintains problem-reporting information to help identify root causes of problems and related solutions. Keeps end-user documentation up-to-date and writes new documentation as needed.
- Responsible for implementing and managing a preventative maintenance program approved by management to achieve proactive response to system degradation.

Education
Associate's Degree or two years of college in a related field of study or technical school
Experience
One to two years related experience
